What
to expect from your hunt
 |
"Dr.
Glen and the Boys After a Great Day of Hunting" |
After
you book a hunt with Northern Flight Guide Service, we will send
you a confirmation letter and checklist of important gear you will
need. Along with a check list we include a map on how to get to
the resort and a fact sheet that you will need to fill out. The
fact sheet lists the names and addresses of the hunters in your
group. We are required to maintain a client list by law and we use
the information to pre print bird tags for your group. Clients arrive
the night before the booked hunt and get checked into their unit,
have a great evening meal, and go over the game plan for the next
days hunt with their guide. The next morning, your group will be
picked up early and leave for the hunt. You have the option to hunt
Snows, blues, or Canadian geese, ducks on land or over water, or
hunt diver ducks on large water. Depending on your preference, your
guide will do his best to get your group into your preferred bird
of choice. Your guide will go over the best opportunities that he
feels are available for the days you are here.

"Full
Day of Duck and Goose Hunting Over a Corn Field" |
Northern
Flights has exclusive hunting rights to thousands of private acres.
We have been in the business of guiding waterfowlers since 1988,
and have hand selected some of the most productive properties in
the area.
For
hunters that want to keep busy in the afternoon, we have a variety
of options. Many clients take us up on our free afternoon self-guided
duck hunts. We can show your group to some of our private water
leases where you can spend the afternoon gunning ducks. Waders and
a dozen or two duck floaters are all you need.
Other
clients choose to fish. Devils Lake is a top fishery for Walleye,
Northern Pike, and Perch. You can opt to hire an afternoon guide
or rent a boat from the resort. Various shore fishing locations
can also provide some great fall fishing action.
While
you are fishing or duck hunting, your guide will be scouting for
the next day's hunt. This is the single largest contributor to the
success of your guided hunt. Guides spend the afternoon scouting
a large area to observe the birds and make a game plan for your
next day's hunt. This is where we look for the best opportunities
and options. Our guides take their homework very seriously so that
your group can capitalize on the best opportunity available.
